The Isaly Dairy Plant on Mahoning Avenue was designed by Charles F. Owsley. Owsley and his father Charles H. and Louis Boucherle practiced in Youngtown and designed many prominant buildings. Charles F. split from Boucherle and practiced with his father until his passing away.
Charles F. designed the Isaly Plant in the Art Moderne Style towards the end of his career. The interesting fact on young Charles studied at the Ecole de Beaux Arts in Paris after his formal training stateside.
His portfolio shows changes in style of the eras which spanned his career ranging from the Beaux Arts Style Youngstown City Hall to the Art Moderne Isaly Dairy. Charles F. died of complications from a stroke in the mid nineteen fifties.
